My work is a celebration of color and abstracted imagery that portrays my daily musings in the studio. Through experimentation and investigation, I satisfy my curiosity and fulfill an inherent need for discovery through play. As an important part of my studio practice, I collect discarded matter and recycled materials. I'm interested in working with different media often juxtaposing and building surface textures with paint, wax, found objects, and other oddities. I generally work on several series at a time over months and sometimes years. My images develop while focusing on the process. I often use a bricolage approach to create works that are filled with ideas, memories, and fragments of experiences associated with growing up and living on the southeastern coast of the US. |
